Conductor, Curator, Advocate
Lina Gonzalez-Granados has distinguished herself as a skilled interpreter of opera and orchestral music spanning the 17th century to today. She is in high demand throughout the U.S. and Europe and is the recipient of various local, national, and international awards. Winner of the 2019 CSO Sir Georg Solti Conducting Competition and Apprenticeship, and the Third Prize and ECHO Special Prize of La Maestra Competition and the 2021 Sphinx Medal of Excellence, she currently serves as the Conducting Fellow of the Philadelphia Orchestra and Seattle Symphony, as well as Artistic Director of Unitas Ensemble, a chamber orchestra she founded to promote and perform the works of Latin-American composers.

"Lina Gonzalez-Granados offered a textured reading of the score by paying close attention to orchestral colors and punctuating myriad details. There is no doubt that her efforts kept this show together. Her hand often peaked above the pit. Clear and emphatic gestures kept everyone on stage and below it in consonance"

"Under the crisp direction of Lina Gonzalez, in the intimate Plaza Theatre at the Boston Center for the Arts, the musicians deliver a sound that allows for distinctions between instruments, especially the horn and oboe, without ever overwhelming the singers. In the duets, trios, and chorales the individual voices manage to be distinct and then blend for a truly sumptuous effect"
- Terry Byrne, The Boston Globe
"The standouts for me were Monika Wolinska and Lina Gonzalez-Granados, who had that extra bit of authority, with lots of eye contact with the orchestra and gestures highly specific and expressive"
- Scott Cantrell, Dallas Morning News

"Although he corrects many things, Bernard Haitink avoids hard judgments. However, one can already sense that Lina González-Granados (...)with their energetic, spirited manner immediately convinced him.."
